The culprits behind the Jaguar Land Rover cyber attack have been unmasked. The incident shut down the company's sites in Solihull Wolverhampton, having a devastating impact on manufactures and sales operations since it happened over two weeks ago.
And the ransomware group responsible for the ongoing disruption to the company's production has declared its intention to halt operations. In a statement on its now-defunct Telegram channel, Scattered Lapsus$ Hunters announced it would cease activity.
It stated: "Silence will now be our strength." A collective of English-speaking hackers took responsibility for the JLR assault via a Telegram platform named Scattered Lapsus$ Hunters, a combination of the names of hacking groups Scattered Spider, Lapsus$ and ShinyHunters.
