The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced more ground cinnamon products are under a public health alert, because they may be contaminated with lead.

The FDA has updated an alert from last year with an additional product, Jiva Organic ground cinnamon, that contains elevated lead levels. Exposure to this product may be unsafe, according to the FDA.

The samples were collected at a retail establishment by the FDA.

The product joins 11 other ground cinnamon products that were first recalled in July 2024.
