SANDWICH, Mass. (WWLP) - A former Master Sergeant of the Massachusetts National Guard pleaded guilty to possession and distribution of child pornography in federal court in Boston.

In a news release from the Department of Justice, 44-year-old Nicholas Wells, who served with the 102 Security Forces, admitted to the charges and is scheduled to be sentenced on January 6, 2026.

Wells engaged in online chats where he discussed his interest in minors and distributed videos depicting child pornography. Authorities found over 300 images and 100 videos on his phone. The investigation revealed that Wells distributed more than 70 videos, some involving infants.

The charges carry significant penalties, including up to 20 years in prison and fines up to $250,000.
