SHAWANGUNK, N.Y..— A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after failing to navigate a curve on state Route 52, state police said Wednesday.

Jeremy L. Martire, 35, of Napanoch, was traveling west “at a high rate of speed” on Route 52 at the Zazversky Road intersection at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, when he failed to navigate a curve and struck an embankment on the south shoulder of the roadway, police said.

Martire was ejected from 2021 Harley motorcycle, struck a street sign and slid about 50 feet before coming to rest, police said in an email.

He was taken by medivac to Vassar Brothers Medical Center with serious injuries.
