LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The City of Lexington is finalizing negotiations on a new city government center.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that the Truist Bank building on Vine Street could be the new city hall. The building will either be renovated or torn down.

The city wants to use a public-private partnership to fund the new building.

The cost of the project is not yet known.

The project is planned to start in 2026.
