OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- A Johnson County, Kansas man is back in jail after being on the run for a year and a half.
Isaiah Sadowski is being held on a $100-million bond. Prosecutors say he fled the country before his trial was supposed to start.
In 2022, Sadowski was charged with second-degree murder after 75-year-old Barbara Patterson was killed in an Overland Park crash in December 2021.
In Wednesday afternoon's hearing in Olathe, it was revealed how long Sadowski was on the run for and where he went.
“The court is aware that Mr. Sadowski sojourned into Mexico. As a result, we continue to have concerns about him posting bond or leaving, although it would seem unlikely given how high it is right now,” a court official, representing the State of Kansas, said Wednesday.
