KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A man from Mexico was sentenced in federal court for re-entering the United States following a felony conviction, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) says.
According to the DOJ, 42-year-old Marcos Martinez-Jiminez pleaded guilty to unlawful reentry and was sentenced to 25 months in prison on Wednesday. The sentencing comes after Martinez-Jiminez was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Kansas City in February of 2025.
Court records show that Martinez-Jiminez was arrested following a KCMO vehicle stop on February 11, 2025. The 42-year-old was arrested due to his prior conviction of aggravated indecent liberties with a child under 14 in Johnson County, Kansas in 2007.
