BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

The man accused of killing a Birmingham assistant high school football coach in August is now facing a federal gun charge.

De'Corlion Keshaun Robinson, 23, is charged with killing Demetrice Beverly at an apartment complex on Lakeshore Parkway

Following a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, a judge ruled there is enough probable cause to send the case to the grand jury and set Robinson's bond at $150,000.

Later that day, the Justice Department announced that Robinson is also charged with one count of possession of a machine gun.

Investigators say he illegally possessed a gun with a machine gun conversion device, also known as a Glock switch. That's a federal offense.
