CINCINNATI —

Two people charged in an assault that turned deadly in East Westwood have been booked into the Hamilton County Jail.

The incident happened on Sept. 27, 2024, when Emory Green and Barbara Mathis were accused of punching John Nichols in the head, causing him to fall on his face and break his jaw. It happened on Westwood Northern Boulevard in East Westwood. Advertisement

The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to WLWT that Nichols died from his injuries in July.

Earlier this month, Green and Mathis were indicted on murder charges.

According to court documents, both were arrested within the last several days. Both are scheduled to appear in court next week.
