PASCO, Wash. – The Pasco City Council continues to evaluate whether to stop adding fluoride to the city's drinking water.
As part of the public process, the city has been collecting feedback through a survey and public feedback sessions.
The final session took place Wednesday night, allowing residents to share their thoughts with the city council before a decision is made.
Spencer Jilek, a dentist, said Franklin County has faced challenges with child tooth decay.
"Franklin County ranked among the three worst counties in the state for child tooth decay. That was our reality. So in 1999, we came to the Pasco City Council with a proposal to add fluoride to our water supply."
The city's mandatory 90-day public notification period regarding these plans will conclude on September 29. Follow
