Trinton Bouldin, a Huntsville man charged with killing two people in a birthday party mass shooting, will ask a judge to grant him youthful offender status.
With the youthful offender hearing, despite the severity of the crime, if granted, Bouldin would serve no more than three years in prison.
Trinton Bouldin is charged with two counts of murder and two counts of assault. He's one of five people charged in connection with that mass shooting in 2023 that left two people dead and nine others hurt. That shooting happened at the Legacy Center, where investigators say a fight broke out and people started shooting.
In Alabama, anybody under 21 can request to be tried as a youthful offender.
