SCOTTSBORO, Ala. - A stolen vehicle was recovered on Highway 72 in Woodville after the Scottsboro Police Department received an alert from the Flock License Plate Reader system on September 18.
The vehicle, a 2015 red Volkswagen Passat with a Tennessee dealer tag, was reported stolen from a dealership in Smithville, Tennessee. An officer located and stopped the car near County Road 8.
The driver, identified as Jesse Glenn Ferrell, initially denied the vehicle was stolen. However, it was confirmed that Ferrell had taken the car for a test drive and failed to return it.
Ferrell was taken into custody and charged with receiving stolen property 1st. The vehicle was recovered without damage.
