NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A new poll shows that in all three statewide elections coming up in November in Virginia, likely voters favor the Democratic candidates over their Republican counterparts.

The poll, released Thursday by Christopher Newport University's Wason Center for Civic Leadership , shows Democratic nominee for governor Abigail Spanberger leading Republican Winsome Earle-Sears by 12 points, 52% to 40%. Eight percent of likely voters remain undecided or don't know.

In the lieutenant governor's race, Democrat Ghazala Hashmi is ahead of Republican John Reid by 11 points, 48% to 37%, and in the race for attorney general, Democrat Jay Jones is ahead of incumbent Republican Attorney General Jason Miyares by seven points, 48% to 41%.
