GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Autumn officially begins Monday at 2:19 p.m. ET. While some trees are starting to change colors across the state, it will take several weeks for peak color to form.

CURRENT FALL COLOR

While trees across Michigan largely remain unchanged, a few pops of yellow and orange are showing the Upper Peninsula.

Maple and aspen trees are among the first types to start showing some color.

WHEN DOES PEAK COLOR POP?

Typically, West Michigan sees peak fall color in late October to early November. However, some cities north of Highway 10 may start to see the vibrant reds and oranges pop slightly sooner.
