LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Proudly calling itself “America’s Loudest Rock & Metal Festival,” the noise from Louder than Life is not a concern for city officials this weekend. It’s the traffic.
Saturday, September 20, 2025, is shaping up to be a perfect storm of congestion. It will be a single day of Derby-sized crowds thanks to the combination of Louder than Life, a UofL home football game, and racing at Churchill Downs.
“We are going to be well north of 100,000 people,” Mayor Craig Greenberg said. “We could easily be approaching 150,000 between these three events with Churchill Downs, with the UofL football game, and Louder than life on Saturday.”
In 2024, Louder Than Life attracted a crowd of 150,000 which included a one-day rain out. This year, UofL football fans will share the stadium
