FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Drought Monitor, released every Thursday, revealed a severe drought has formed across a portion of Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio, with a moderate drought nearly everywhere else.
The good news is there are a handful of rain chances over the next seven days, though it still seems unlikely we’ll see enough. to remove any drought designations.
Friday will be hot and dry with highs in the upper 80s, followed by partly sunny skies Saturday. Late in the day there could be a few spotty showers, but rain will likely hold off until the latter half of the day Sunday. Even then, rain amounts look light - a quarter of an inch or less.
The front responsible for this rain will slowly cross our area overnight Sunday into Monday, leading to more cloud cover and more
