McNABB ( 25News Now ) - It’s too soon for a damage estimate after a fire at a plumbing and heating business in a Putnam County village.

Firefighters in McNabb were called around 9:25 a.m. Wednesday to a structure fire at Grasser’s Plumbing and Heating, finding smoke showing from the building and beginning an immediate investigation.

The fire department evacuated the block as a precaution.

Firefighters then found a fully involved fire in the attic of an unoccupied area.

Extra manpower and resources were called and aggressive extinguishment methods began.

All apparatus cleared the scene by 1:45 p.m. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the McNabb Fire Department and Illinois State Fire Marshal, but the department said it’s believed to have been electrical in nature.
