KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Get your taste buds ready. The new KCK BBQ Trail officially launches on Friday, Sept. 19.

Similar to the KCK Taco Trail, it's a self-guided tour that celebrates Kansas City's historic, diverse and authentic barbecue scene that includes iconic pitmasters, emerging brands and multi-generational family recipes.

The trail features 12 Wyandotte County barbecue stops serving authentic Kansas City-style barbecue, and two bonus stops, according to Visit Kansas City, Kansas.

Starting on Friday, people can sign up to use a free mobile exclusive passport and scan the KCK BBQ Trail QR code at participating restaurants to start earning points to redeem prizes.
