A moped crash Thursday morning on Coleman Road claimed the life of a Paducah man.
Paducah Police report they were called to the intersection of Coleman Road and Coleman Crossing Circle for a traffic collision.
Upon arrival, officers found that a moped operated by 60-year-old Erich Sternberg had disregarded a stop sign and drove into the side of a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck, driven by 56-year-old Earnest J. Scarritt of Arlington.
Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, Sternberg was pronounced dead at the scene by McCracken County Coroner Amanda Melton.
The roadway was closed for over two hours while Paducah Police detectives and the collision reconstruction team investigated the scene.
