(WFSB) - A battle over public health continues Friday.

Democratic-led states in the northeast teamed up to determine their own vaccine guidance as the federal government scheduled a big vote on its recommendations.

Families continued to be sent mixed messages when it came to vaccines, especially COVID-19 shots. There has been confusion about which medical professionals to trust.

Connecticut joined six states and New York City to collaborate on recommendations and vaccine guidance.
