The US Marshals Service recently arrested 60 fugitives as part of an enforcement effort called “Operation No Safe Harbor,” officials said Thursday.

The operation, which was carried out from Aug. 25 to Sept. 17 by the Marshals Service’s Massachusetts Fugitive Task Force, “targeted violent offenders, unregistered sex offenders, and critically endangered missing children throughout Massachusetts,” officials said.

Among those arrested were a fugitive in Brockton wanted by police in Fitchburg for a fatal stabbing earlier this week; a fugitive in Canton wanted for a fatal shooting in Dorchester last year; a fugitive in Springfield wanted for assault to murder and drug distribution; a fugitive wanted in Maryland for rape; a fugitive in Framingham wanted in Ohio for the murder of a 2-year old; a
