SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - On Thursday, September 18 at approximately 12:05 p.m., members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) under the direction of Sergeant David Robillard and members of the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department seized two illegal firearms and arrested 20-year-old Samuel Irenes-Colon in connection with a firearms investigation.

For the past several months, FIU Detectives have been investigating Irenes-Colon for the illegal possession of a firearm. Detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for his home on the 400 block of Canon Circle.

Detectives executed the warrant shortly after noon and detained Irenes Colon and two other subjects who were later released.
