Two Sterling Heights police officers were each bound over to circuit Friday on a charge of misconduct in office and an assault offense for their actions during the apprehension of a man who led police on a more than 4-mile vehicular chase.

Jack Currie, 30, and James Sribniak, 32, were each ordered by Judge Alyia Hakim of 39th District Court in Roseville to face the misconduct charge, punishable by up to five years in prison, next month in front of Judge Diana Druzinski in Macomb County Circuit Court for their actions in the February 2024 arrest of Gary (also Garry) Young in Roseville.

Currie also was ordered to the same higher court on a charge of assault with intent to do bodily harm, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, for several punches and a couple of kicks to Young’s head.
