SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The MSPCA has rescued over two dozen specialty breed dogs from commercial breeding facilities across the United States.

The 27 dogs, ranging in age from four months though seven years old, include dachshunds, beagles, husky mixes, and more. They are often abused in these breeding facilities and need special behavioral and medical care.

The MSPCA said the pups are expected to arrive at Hanscom Field in Bedford on Saturday on a flight organized by the Bissell Pet Foundation. They’ll then be picked up and brought to the MSPCA’ northeast shelter where they’ll be quarantined and cared for.

It’s unclear when the dogs will be ready to be adopted, but if you’re interested, be sure to check the MSPCA-Angell ocial media pages for updates.
