Highland Wildlife Park has introduced one of its smallest and most charming residents, a European wildcat kitten named Tay. Born on 4 August 2025, Tay’s name was chosen by the People’s Postcode Lottery, paying homage to Scotland’s longest river, the River Tay , and global superstar Taylor Swift , who has Scottish heritage. ‌

Tay’s arrival is not only a delight for visitors but a symbol of hope for a species under serious threat. Wildcats, known scientifically as Felis silvestris, are among Britain’s most endangered mammals and a key emblem of the Scottish Highlands. ‌
