"What could be hiding in this drain? 👀", an animal care center was asking after sounds were heard beneath a Los Angeles County street.
It was unclear exactly how long the mystery animal had been in the drain, but it had apparently been there for several days, according to a Facebook post by the Palmdale Animal Care Center on Thursday.
Crews from the L.A. County Fire Department, Community Effort Animal Rescue, and "Cpl. Ramos, who showed up every single day this week to help", eventually found the source of the cries.
"Turns out—it was a tiny kitten, trapped and unable to escape ... this little guy is finally safe and sound (and definitely in need of a good bath 🧼)", the post read.
