ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WTNH) — Rocky Hill fire officials say no injures were reported after diesel spilled from a tanker carrying about 1,000 gallons of fuel Friday.
The incident happened just before noon, in the area of 60 Belamose Ave.
Fire crews said they started mitigation of about 50 gallons of fuel. During a transfer from the initial vehicle to a new tanker, there was an additional 200 to 300 gallons, fire officials said.
The Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection responded and helped contain the spill. They will also coordinate clean up of the site.
The fire department cleared the scene not long after 2 p.m.
