ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The University of Rochester Medical Center gave a sneak peek of the Wilmot Warrior Weekend, set to take place on September 27 and 28, aiming to raise funds for cancer research and survivorship programs.
Launched in 2023 by the Wilmot Cancer Institute, the event includes activities such as the Wilmot Breakaway Rides, where bikers can ride up to 75 miles, and the Warrior Walk and Run, featuring a 6K run and a 1-mile walk.
"The reason why we do this...I do this to support the hard working dedicated teams at Wilmot. Who research to eradicate this horrendous disease. I do it to honor my husband's memory. But most of all I do it for your family, and my family. Especially my children and my grandchildren. So that one day they don't ever have to face a cancer diagnosis.
