DEVILS LAKE, N.D. — A North Dakota car dealership is turning car sales into meaningful donations for classrooms.

Devils Lake Cars is donating more than $16,000 to classrooms across the state as part of its third annual “Rev Up for Education” event.

For nearly every car sold in August, the dealership donated $102 to a classroom of the buyer’s choice. The $102 figure was chosen in honor of the dealership’s 102-year anniversary.

Owner Ben Bergstrom said the effort is a way to make a lasting difference.

“I like to talk about how our vision is to elevate the car business, and what that means is not that we’re different than others in the car business, but we want to be a difference maker, and part of that is giving back to our community,” Bergstrom said.
