WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Plumbing problems in the basement caused significant issues at Woonsocket High School on Friday, and at least one parent learned this information from her child, more than an hour before the school's administration contacted families.

"Around 8:30, he informed us that there was a pipe that had burst the previous day, and they said it was just water," said Katie Nogueras, who first found out about the problem from her son. "He asked if we could come and pick him up because there was no running bathroom."

Nogueras shared an email parents and families received at 9:40 a.m. from the school's principal, Brian Ernest, that read, "We are currently experiencing a plumbing problem in the basement area of the high school. All students have been relocated to our lecture ha
