SALINA, Kan. (KAKE) - History was made Friday in Salina as women from all branches of public safety gathered for the first-ever women’s first responders symposium.

“Public safety is oftentimes a male-dominated career; no matter what branch of service you go into, I think it’s really important for women in those service fields to find a sisterhood,” said Candice Breshears, with the Kansas Highway Patrol.
