HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has responded to Connecticut officials regarding ongoing sewage overflow issues from Massachusetts towns into the Connecticut River.
Connecticut State Representatives Tami Zawistowski and Devin Carney sent a letter to the EPA seeking assistance with sewage overflows, particularly from Holyoke, Massachusetts, which has released millions of gallons of raw sewage into the river.
In the response, the agency says, "The EPA has spent a significant amount of time and resources to work with all communities, including those in Connecticut, to address these issues in as robust & timely a manner as possible."
