INDIANAPOLIS — Racing returns to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend with Battle on the Bricks.

Racing fans will see high performance sports cars putting the pedal to the metal. The skies were clear on Friday. But if severe weather does hit on race day, IMS has worked to make sure everyone is safe.

Drivers were behind the wheel of Porsches, Corvettes, Lamborghinis and Ferraris on Friday, going head-to-head in practice, qualifying and racing events throughout the weekend at The Brickyard.

"It's just a great weekend to get outside and see some cars on track," said Michael Kaltenmark, IMS senior director of marketing. "If you like sports cars, or you're into cars, this is the event for you, because these are the cars that you see on the roads, only they've been built to race."
