BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a homicide they say happened Friday evening in the Inglenook neighborhood.

Police were called to the 4300 block of 41st Avenue North a little before 10 p.m. to investigate.

When they arrived at the scene, police found a man who had been shot laying in the doorway of the house. The man did not survive.

Authorities said a party was taking place at the residence when the victim was involved in an altercation resulting in multiple shots being fired.

Later, police said another man shot at the same location in Inglenook arrived at an area hospital for treatment. BPD said this victim is expected to survive their injuries.
