House prices are on the rise in Glasgow , with the average home costing £13,000 more than a year ago.

It cost £191,000 to buy the average home in Glasgow in the 12 months to July, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics.

That’s 7.1% more than a year earlier, an increase of £13,000. Back in 2023, the average home in the city was £174,000, meaning prices have increased 17,000 in just two years.

Renfrewshire has experienced the largest increase in the surrounding area, however.

The average house price there is now £162,000, which is 11.05% more than a year ago. That works out at an increase of £16,000.

In South Lanarkshire, average house prices are up by 6.6%. In North Lanarkshire they’re up by 5.6%, in East Dunbartonshire by 4.2%, in West Dunbartonshi
