A suspended police constable has been handed a community order after pleading guilty to two counts of drink driving.

PC Jakub Lewandrowski, 23, of Wood Street, Ilkeston , was arrested and charged with drink driving just hours before he was due in court to face a similar charge.

He was stopped and breathalysed on Tunnicliffe Close, Ilkeston, at 1.30am on Friday, September 19, blowing above the legal limit.

He was already due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Friday, September 19, for a separate drink-driving charge. He was first arrested by his colleagues on Sunday, August 31, in Wollaton Road, Nottingham, where he was found to be over the legal limit.

Following his second arrest, Lewandrowski was taken into custody and appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court
