The Met Office has declared a yellow weather warning across the East Midlands this weekend - urging people in affected areas to protect themselves and their homes. The forecaster has issued a wind warning across the East Midlands and central England , which will be in effect from 3pm on Saturday (September 20) until 4am on Sunday (September 21).

The affected area stretches from Norwich in the west to the Irish Sea, extending north towards Sheffield. While Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire are included in a wind warning area, parts of Derbyshire are also included in a yellow rain warning area as well, in place from 9am on Saturday to 3am on Sunday.
