The heroism of first responders who battled January’s destructive wildfires will take center stage this weekend during Douglas Day 2025, a free community event scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Santa Monica Airport.

The celebration, hosted by the nonprofit Spirit of Santa Monica, will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to the public.
