Morrissey has cancelled two scheduled shows after receiving a 'credible' death threat.
The former Smiths frontman was said to have received the chilling threat in 'recent days'.
US shows in Connecticut and Massachusetts have now been axed 'out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and audience'.
The announcement was made on the 66-year-old singer's official Facebook page.

According to the Mirror , the statement read: "In recent days, there has been a credible threat on Morrissey's life.
"Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and audience, tonight's engagement at Foxwoods has been cancelled. We appreciate your understanding."
