NEWARK - Halsey Fest heated up as the sun went down along the historic Halsey Street corridor in downtown Newark on Thursday evening, Sept. 18.

Halsey Fest brought together the downtown Newark community for a day of celebration, connection and creativity along Halsey Street, as well as the broader Arts and Education District.

For nearly 15 years, this festival has shown that Halsey Street is “a neighborhood built on hustle and heart,” according to Festivals United Newark (FUN), a coalition of the city’s major festival planners.

Festival goers had the opportunity to sample food, listen to music, watch street performers and enjoy face painting.
