(WJW) - Legendary comedian Steve Martin called off two comedy shows after the 80-year-old actor tested positive for COVID-19.

The announcement was made Friday night on Steve Martin's website and social media pages and comes as he tours with friend and fellow comedian Martin Short.

According to Steve Martin's website:

Steve Martin and Martin Short’s shows at The Dome (9/19) in Virginia Beach, VA and Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront (9/20) in Richmond, VA will be canceled. Unfortunately, Steve Martin has come down with Covid, and out of an abundance of caution, the shows will be canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Refunds will be available to ticket buyers.

On Instagram, Martin shared a photo of a positive Covid-19 test and wrote in a prior post:
