COCAINE SEIZED IN TRAFFIC STOP

Brandon Police Service arrested a woman early Friday morning after a traffic stop turned up cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Officers stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of Sixth Street just after 2 a.m.

When the backseat passengers identified themselves, officers found that a 21-year-old man was on a release order with a condition not to be in contact with one of the other passengers, a 34-year-old woman, BPS said in a news release Friday.

A can of Mike’s Hard was visible, which led an officer to search the woman and her purse, BPS told the Sun in an email. They found 12.5 grams of cocaine, unused packaging material, a scale, a cellphone and $30 in cash, police said.
