A 27-year-old man is in hospital in critical condition following a shooting in a home on the central Mountain.

First responders were called to a home on Manning Avenue for a medical emergency before 3 a.m. Saturday. At the scene, Hamilton police officers found a man with a gunshot injury, they said in a Saturday morning media release.

The 27-year-old was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Investigators are holding a scene on Manning Avenue between Upper Wellington and Upper James streets Saturday morning.

People at the residence “ were acquainted with each other, ” police say. Investigators are not searching for any other suspects in the “isolated” incident.
