RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have identified a 30-year-old woman who died days after being shot at a Richland County hotel .

Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford said Zakiyah Ali of Columbia died on Tuesday, two days after a shooting that happened on Sunday at 8310 Two Notch Road, the address of an InTown Suites hotel.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department said they arrived around 6 p.m. to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment, and a suspect, 33-year-old Jerry Williams, was initially charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Williams was denied bond on those charges. A new charge of murder has been added to his jail records. Those records show no bon
