JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) - Fender's Farm celebrated its grand re-opening on Saturday, nearly one year after Hurricane Helene brought devastating flooding that wiped the attraction out.

Owner Carroll Fender said he didn't picture a day he could reopen after what they experienced in the aftermath of Helene.

"I didn't know that we could ever be back the first few weeks after the flood," said Fender. "But we've had a tremendous amount of outpouring love from people with donations to volunteers. It's been absolutely phenomenal."

Fender said it took a lot of work and even 12 to 16-hour shifts since last November to get the farm back to where it is today.

Long-term volunteer, Keith Bailey, said that after Helene hit, the farm served as a response area for FEMA and provided around 300 meals
