SOUTH HADLEY, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - On Friday night in South Hadley, cell phone provider T-Mobile presented the town’s high school with a check to upgrade its athletic facilities. It was part of the company’s ‘Friday Night 5G Lights’ competition, celebrating high schools in rural communities across the country.

The school told us the cash will go towards additions in the weight room. the high school’s athletic director, Eric Castonguay, said they’re still interested in the contests grand prize,

“hopefully with the all the shares on our Instagram just getting the word out in the community is the finalists, the winners get a new stadium upgrade so tracks, bleachers, everything, press box so that’s the big thing we’re still in the running for so we’re thankful for that 5,000 but our eyes are on
