SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Notre Dame’s home football game against Purdue, which is airing on WNDU, has been delayed by lightning.

Play was suspended with 1:31 remaining in the second quarter.

Notre Dame leads 28-13, but Purdue has the ball at the Notre Dame 19 when play resumes.

According to our WNDU First Alert Weather team, this game must be paused for at least 30 minutes if lightning is within an eight-mile radius.

Per NCAA rules, the game cannot resume until 30 minutes have passed since the last lightning strike.
