UNION COUNTY, S.C. —
The Union County School District said Saturday that an investigation into a social media threat is underway.
The district said the post involved Union County High School.
According to the district, administrators immediately contacted the Union County Sheriff's Office and law enforcement started the investigation.
The district said with cooperation from the student's family and law enforcement, they are addressing the situation quickly and there is no ongoing threat to the school community.
The district said students who saw the post reported it to school administrators.
Officials said the district is taking precautions so Union County High School will be a secure environment when students return on Monday.
