SOUTH BEND — The lightning delay between Purdue football and Notre Dame created an awkward timing decision.

The stoppage came with the 1:31 remaining in the first half. The Boilermakers trailed 28-13, but had retaken possession on a Myles Slusher strip-sack of CJ Carr . Purdue faces second-and-10 at the 19 when play resumes.

So does that mean the teams will play 91 seconds of game clock, then return to their locker rooms for a full halftime? The game has been delayed since 5:06 p.m.

The answer is no. Notre Dame announced this break will serve as the halftime break. There will be a typical quarter transition between the second and third quarters.
