Indiana Fever wing Sophie Cunningham has something of a chip on her shoulder for the WNBA after advancing to the semifinals against Las Vegas with an 87-85 win over Atlanta on Thursday.
"I think the league is so mad that we won because we were literally not supposed to be here at all," Cunningham said on the Show Me Something podcast. "That fuels our fire even more. It was so fun."
Cunningham is out for the rest of the playoffs due to a torn MCL, one of five season-ending injuries the Fever have suffered.
But she said sitting on the bench was almost as big a workout as playing.
"I was so nervous and I don't really get anxious but I was so anxious I could not sit still," Cunningham said. "I felt like I played with how much I was sweating. It was one of those games, such a good W game
